Adaptación transcultural de instrumentos. Guía para el proceso de validación de instrumentos tipo encuestas.
Resumen
Cuando se utiliza un instrumento de medición, como una encuesta, no sólo debe asegurarse que dicho instrumento a utilizar sea confiable, sino que además sea válido en la población a investigar. Una de las grandes limitaciones que tenemos en nuestro medio es que muchos de los instrumentos relevantes para nuestro propósito de investigación están en otro idioma (generalmente en inglés). Por lo que aún, conociendo la confiabilidad y validez del instrumento en el país donde se desarrolló, para poder considerarlo un instrumento válido en nuestro medio, debe pasar por un proceso conocido como adaptación transcultural.
